Diagnosis

Before you can treat the issue you need to know the cause.

The key to success is determining the right treatment for you. And we can’t do that until we diagnose what is causing the issue. That’s why we begin with a complete history on the couple and a thorough physical examination of both people. We will ask you questions regarding anything that may have an effect on your fertility, including your overall health, activity, diet, habits such as smoking or use of alcohol or medications (including prescriptions and over-the-counter medications), regularity of your menstrual cycle, frequency of intercourse, and any pelvic or genital infections either of you may have had. We will also assess your endocrine system and hormone levels and evaluate your reproductive system. Our testing and evaluations may include one or more of the topics discussed below.

Dealing with infertility can feel daunting and sometimes scary. It can also be extremely stressful and quite costly. That’s why we place so much emphasis on the diagnosis. Our goal is to determine the cause, or causes, so we can more accurately prescribe specific treatments, saving time, money, and, hopefully, disappointment by helping you achieve the results you are expecting.
